Features of the Bamberg Series 5 TM Monitor

Attention to every detail has been paid in the development of this speaker.

General features
  • Minimalist TM design offers spacious imaging and an easy amplifier load
  • Bass response optimized for integration with BESL subwoofers and for HT receivers´ 80Hz high-pass filter
  • Tweeter offset from baffle centerline smoothes SPL response
  • Reference Axis response optimized at 10 degrees off horizontal axis (tweeters to inside) and 6 degrees below vertical axis (to account for the 6 degree back-tilt of the cabinet)
  • Thoroughly tested for QC
Cabinet
  • 1" thick MDF baffle, fully cross-braced at driver hole webs
  • Acoustic scallops in woofer hole interior edges smoothes low treble response
  • 3/4" thick MDF wall panels with piano gloss black finish
  • Interior cross bracing between opposing panels
  • Sealed box alignment aids subwoofer integration
  • 100% stuffed improves midrange clarity
Crossover
  • Externally housed passive network isolates the crossover from vibration and eliminates crosstalk between inductors and voice coils
  • Speakon® 4-pole twist-lock connector guarantees tweeter protection and correct driver polarity with the outboard crossover
  • External crossover facilitates easy upgrade to full active tri-amp. (Stereo tri-amp requires 6 amplifier channels and Speakon-terminated speaker cables.)
  • Multi-strand solid core tweeter Umbilical cable connects monitor to outboard crossover
  • 3-position switch provides "airy", "neutral", and "distant" treble contours
  • Audiophile grade polypropylene capacitors and perfect-lay air-core inductors throughout
  • Mills® tweeter series resistor
  • "Passing Lane" cap bypasses main cap and series resistor in tweeter circuit for enhanced top octave "air"
  • Optimized inductor/inductor orientation for reduced interaction
  • No jumper wires; star grounding technique
  • Reliable board fabrication and installation
  • And of course, legendary BESL voicing!
